The University of Dayton announced Tuesday that the men’s basketball team’s game against George Washington scheduled for Wednesday has been postponed due to a positive COVID-19 case in the GW staff. UD also announced that the women’s basketball team has now had four more games postponed.

This is the Flyers’ first postponement or cancellation since the Dec. 8 match-up against Purdue Fort Wayne.

The Flyers’ (8-3, 4-2 in A10) next game will now be Saturday on the road against VCU in Richmond, Va., at 4:30 p.m.

For the women’s basketball team, a positive COVID-19 test has caused team activities to be paused, resulting in the postponement of its next four games: Tuesday at Saint Louis; Friday vs. Massachusetts at UD Arena; Sunday against Rhode Island at home; and Jan. 29 at Duquesne.

The Flyers (6-1, 5-0 A10) also had Saturday’s game against Fordham postponed due to this positive test.

“The program will resume team activities after all members of Tier 1 have cleared COVID-19 protocols,” UD announced.
