Multimedia Editor Introduces Himself

Hello readers!

My name is Carson Caprella, and I’d like to introduce myself as the Multimedia Editor for Flyer
News!

I come from a small city an hour north of Dayton, known as Lima. I’ve been doing photography
since high school, and I hope to continue doing it long after I graduate.

This is my second year as Multimedia Editor, as well as my third with Flyer News. You’ll likely see me around campus with a camera, as I’m also an intern with the UD athletics department. I’m entering my senior year with a major in communication, a minor in journalism, and a concentration in media production.

In truth, my focus has always been on sports photography. I first got into photography by taking photos of my high school’s sports teams. As I’ve branched out into different kinds of photography (as well as videography), I began to understand why I kept doing it: capturing how someone feels, the tone of a room, and the feel of an event through images.

This coming school year, I want to do more photo stories with Flyer News. Though writing is
something I enjoy, I feel like my best expressions come from shutters and stills. I’m not forgoing
written stories (you can’t really do that in journalism); I just want to do more of what I know I’m
good at. Though my schedule is packed, I want to make more time for Flyer News.

In lieu of exhausting the keys on my laptop, I believe the best way to introduce myself is to show
some of my favorite shots I’ve gotten.
