A COVID-19 positive test in the Alcorn State men’s basketball program has caused the cancellation of the Dec. 1 match-up against the Flyers men’s basketball team, the University of Dayton announced Saturday.

This is the second cancellation for the Flyers this week, after the Cedarville exhibition game, scheduled to be played today (Nov. 28), was cancelled due to a COVID-19 positive test in the Yellow Jackets program. It’s also the second cancellation for the Dec. 1 gameday, as Bellarmine was also put on COVID-pause and forced to cancel.

The Flyers are “working through our contingency plans and will share scheduling updates as they develop.”

The season opener is now scheduled to be against Southern Methodist at UD Arena on Dec. 5, unless another opponent can be found before that day.
