Dayton men’s golf freshman wins A-10 championship with eagle putt on final hole

University of Dayton men’s golf freshman Henry May sunk a long eagle putt on the final hole to win the Atlantic 10 Championship on Sunday in Orlando, Fla.

On the par-72, 7,186-yard Reunion Resort and Golf Club Nicklaus Course, May first birdied the 15th and 17th holes before closing his impressive 69 round with the eagle putt. May shot 67-74-69 =210 (-6), one better than Davidson’s Alex Ross, earned a spot in the NCAA regional tournament and was named Most Outstanding Rookie Performer.

As a team, the Flyers finished in second with a score of 285-295-288=868 for +4, nine shots behind Davidson. Senior Connor Quigley and sophomore Kyle Schmidt finished fifth and sixth in the final round with a 71, one under par.
