The Dayton Flyers men’s soccer team released their 2021 schedule Monday, and will begin their season Aug. 17 with an exhibition game on the road against IUPUI.
After the road exhibition match, the Flyers will play two more exhibitions at home against Bellarmine (Aug. 20) and Wabash (Aug. 22). After the exhibitions, the Flyers will play in the OSU Tournament in Columbus, Ohio, with games against UAB (Aug. 27) and Memphis (Aug. 29).
The Flyers’ first regular season homestand at Baujan Field begins against Incarnate Word Sept. 4, and is followed by games against Detroit (Sept. 6) and Western Michigan (Sept. 10). The Flyers will then face Oakland on the road Sept. 14 before returning back home for another home game against UMKC on Sept. 18.
Conference play begins on the road against VCU Sept. 25, and is briefly interrupted by a home game against Kentucky Sept. 29. UMass is next for the Flyers at home Oct. 2, before another road game against George Washington Oct. 6.
Rhode Island travels to Dayton Oct. 9, before the Flyers hit the road again for two more against Saint Louis (Oct. 16) and Davidson (Oct. 20). The Flyers wrap up the regular season with two home games against St. Bonaventure (Oct. 23) and Duquesne (Oct. 30).
After bowing out in the Atlantic 10 semifinals in the spring 2021 season, the Flyers will look to do better this year. The conference championships begin with four quarterfinal games on Nov. 6 and 7, followed by the semifinals Nov. 12 and the championship final Nov. 14.
