Four-star small forward in the class of 2021 Kaleb Washington has committed to the University of Dayton Monday night, giving the Flyers their second four-star prospect commitment in three days.

In the span of just one week, UD men’s basketball coach Anthony Grant has bolstered the future of the Flyers’ program, first with DaRon Holmes (No. 36 recruit according to Rivals) Saturday, and now with the No. 90 recruit from Pebblebrook High School in Mableton, Georgia.

With offers from Florida State, Miami (FL), Georgia, Iowa State, and several other Power 5 schools, Washington also joins three-star guard Malachi Smith and USC transfer Elijah Weaver as incoming players for the 2021-22 season – giving the Flyers four players that are (or were) three-star recruits or better.

The 2021 class, not including Weaver, ranks 21st in Rivals.com team rankings, just behind Ohio State, but ahead of Kansas, North Carolina and Arizona, to name just a few Power 5 schools behind the Flyers’ historic class.

To put that into perspective, the Flyers recruiting classes ranked 86th and 89th the last two years.

The 6-foot-7 forward is the latest addition to an impressive arsenal of recruits for Grant, and shows the progress he has made since taking over as head coach in 2016-17, and the trust recruits have for what he has built.

The announcement came in a post on Washington’s Instagram page.
