Multiple Flyers women’s basketball players earn A10 awards

With the announcement of the Atlantic 10 women’s basketball individual awards Tuesday, multiple University of Dayton student-athletes were recognized for their accomplishments in the 2020-21 season.
Redshirt senior guard Araion Bradshaw was named Defensive Player of the Year, and fellow redshirt senior Jenna Giacone was named Most Improved Player.

Joining Bradshaw and Giacone in a player of the year category was freshman center Tenin Magassa, who gained Sixth Woman of the Year honors.

Bradshaw was named to the All-Defensive First Team, and Third Team All-Conference, and Giacone was named to the First Team All-Conference. Magassa was named to the All-Rookie Team.
Finally, the Flyers’ eighth and ninth honors went to redshirt senior guard Erin Whalen, who was named to the Second Team All-Conference and All-Academic teams as well.
The Flyers open up their A-10 Championship on Friday at 11 a.m. as the top seed and will face the winner of No. 8 seed La Salle and No. 9 seed Duquesne.
