With the announcement of the Atlantic 10 men’s basketball honor Wednesday, four Dayton Flyers student-athletes were recognized for their achievements during the 2020-21 season.

Senior guard Jalen Crutcher earned First Team All-A10 honors for the second straight season, and redshirt senior guard Ibi Watson was named Third Team All-A10.

Crutcher averaged 18.1 points, 4.8 assists, and 3.6 rebounds per game, and shot 46.8 percent from the field and 38.1 from three. Watson finished with 15.8 points and 4.1 rebounds per game and shot 46.6 percent from the field and 42.7 from three.

Redshirt senior center Jordy Tshimanga earned Academic All-A10 honors, and freshman forward Mustapha Amzil rounded out the Flyers’ awards by being named to the A10 All-Rookie Team.

Tshimanga 6.8 points and 8 rebounds per game and is a graduate student with a 3.83 GPA in School Counseling after finishing his undergraduate degree in August.

Amzil, meanwhile, was a late addition to the Flyers, joining the team on Dec. 30, 2020, after committing in the fall. Amzil averaged 9.8 points and 5.5 rebounds per game and finished 49.6 percent from the field and 39.1 from three.

“Congratulations to Jalen, Ibi, Jordy and Mustapha for being recognized by our league’s coaches for their performances on-and-off the court this season,” Flyer coach Anthony Grant said. “We are proud of the way our three seniors represented our program throughout their careers and we are excited about Mustapha’s successes, and his potential moving forward. All of these young men, along with their teammates, coaches and staff members across the Atlantic 10 adapted to the challenges of the pandemic and made tremendous sacrifices to help achieve this recognition and make this season possible. Congratulations to all!”
