Dayton made sure the Wildcats couldn’t get their heads in the game as they defeated Davidson, 65-64, at UD Arena Tuesday evening.
With 56 seconds left, a three from freshman guard Jalen Crutcher exploded the arena and put the Flyers up 63-61. After a missed layup from Kellan Grady and an attempted put back that fell out of bounds, guard Trey Landers sealed it with a couple of free-throws.
The two teams repeatedly exchanged leads down the stretch but the Flyers managed to hang on.
Dayton is now 10-10 (4-4) after snapping their short two-game losing streak.
