The University of Dayton women’s basketball team keeps winning, whether home or away, improving to 6-0 on the season with a 55-43 win against St. Joseph’s Friday night in Philadelphia.
After giving up the first points of the game, the Flyers went on a quick 9-0 run, but the Hawks responded and the game was tied at 24 at halftime.
However, the Flyers outscored the Hawks 16-7 in the third quarter, and never looked back, winning by a dozen.
Redshirt senior guards Jenna Giacone and Araion Bradshaw led the way with 15 and 13 points respectively, and combined for 12 rebounds and 5 assists. Junior forward Kyla Whitehead also added 7 points and 7 rebounds in a comfortable Flyers win.
With the win, the Flyers improve to 9-1 on the season and 8-0 in Atlantic 10 play, and will stay in Philadelphia to face La Salle on Sunday at noon.
