Imagine a video of you singing going viral? Imagine auditioning before British music producer and infamous singing critic Simon Cowell? Crazy? Well, that is exactly what happened to Callie Day.

Day – who earned a Master’s degree in education with a music concentration from UD – is competing in this season of America’s Got Talent, a show open to acts of all talents and ages. Day could be up against dancers, comedians, contortionists, magicians or other performers all striving for a $1 million prize. This season features celebrity judges Julianne Hough, Howie Mandel, Gabrielle Union and Cowell.

Her audition is set to appear as part of the first six episodes airing every Tuesday through July 9. Even Day does not know when her audition will appear. So far, she has had weekly watch parties in anticipation for her appearance on the show, as showcased by her Facebook page

America’s Got Talent isn’t Day’s first brush with fame, however. Some may remember her as a singing pharmacy tech, appearing in several commercials for Walmart. Also, a video her singing garnered 2.5 million views, eliciting praise from gospel singer Kim Burrell and American Idol winner Fantasia.

Her debut album, “Hear My Prayer, was released in 2017 and is available on iTunes, Google Play and Amazon.
