University of Dayton Suspends All Athletic Events Indefinitely

Shortly after the cancelation of the Atlantic 10 men’s basketball tournament, the University of Dayton announced in a post that all athletic events will be suspended indefinitely.

The update states that the suspension is due to the coronavirus (COVID-19).

Here is a list of the current precautions being taken, according to the update:

  • The baseball series March 13-15 vs. Ball State is canceled.
  • The softball games vs. Wright State (March 13) and Western Michigan (March 14) are canceled.
  • The men’s and women’s home tennis matches vs. Saint Francis (March 14) are canceled, as well as the men’s tennis matches in Charleston, S.C. (March 17-19) and the women’s tennis matches at Western Kentucky (March 15) and Belmont (March 17).
  • All events for sports in non-competition season (football, men’s soccer, women’s soccer, men’s cross country and volleyball) have been suspended indefinitely for this spring.
