Toppin was named College Player of the Year by several publications, including the USBWA, the Associated Press, CBS and Sporting News.

Toppin is projected to be the No. 9 pick on ESPN’s mock draft and the No. 11 pick on Bleacher Report. Dayton has only had two other lottery picks in program history, Johnny Horan (1955, No. 6) and Jim Paxson (1979, No. 12).
