Flyers men’s basketball Atlantic 10 schedule announced

The Atlantic 10 announced their 2021-22 men’s basketball conference schedule Thursday, with the Flyers scheduled to face Rhode Island on the road Dec. 30 to open their conference play.
The Flyers open the season with 4 regular season home games (plus exhibition at home against Cedarville), followed by the ESPN Events Invitational in Orlando, Fla., and then 4 more home games interspersed with 2 true non-conference road games.
Although they begin conference play on the road, the Flyers return to UD Arena for two games against defending conference champions St. Bonaventure (Jan. 2, 2022) and runners-up VCU (Jan. 5). The Flyers alternate away and home for the next six games, traveling to George Washington (Jan. 8), Duquesne (Jan. 15) and George Mason (Jan. 22), and hosting Saint Louis (Jan. 11), Fordham (Jan. 19), and Rhode Island (Jan. 28) after each road game.
Next up will be two tough road games, VCU (Feb. 2) and Saint Louis (Feb. 5) followed by two home games against Duquesne (Feb. 9) and George Washington (Feb. 12).
After one week off, the Flyers will face Saint Joseph’s on the road (Feb. 19), Massachusetts at home (Feb. 23) and then two road games against La Salle (Feb. 26) and Richmond (March 1).
Wrapping up the conference slate and the regular season, the Flyers host Davidson (March 5) before the A-10 tournament March 9-13 at Capital One Arena in Washington, D.C.
In 2020-21, the Flyers finished 14-10 overall and 9-6 in A-10 play, falling to La Salle, Fordham, VCU (3x, A-10 quarterfinals), Duquesne, Rhode Island and Saint Joseph’s.
