Earning a bid to the Women’s National Invitational Tournament for winning the Atlantic 10 regular season championship, the Dayton Flyers women’s basketball team will begin postseason play on March 19.

The Flyers will face Northern Iowa (14-12) at noon (11 a.m. CT) on March 19 in Rockford, Ill. If the Flyers win, they would face the winner of Creighton (9-11) versus Bowling Green (20-6), and would face the loser in a consolation match-up if they lose.

The Flyers’ season ended prematurely with a 66-60 loss to VCU in the A-10 semifinals Saturday, but with a 14-3 overall record and a 12-1 mark in A-10 play, the Flyers earned an automatic bid in the 32-team WNIT.

Last making an appearance in the tournament in 2019, the Flyers will look to make a postseason run after a disappointing end to the season with a loss to Saint Louis on Senior Night and VCU in the A-10 semifinals.
