University of Dayton women’s basketball assistant coach Calamity McEntire, a member of head coach Shauna Green’s staff since 2017, made the move to Texas on Friday.

McEntire was hired as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator on June 20, 2017, after Green’s first season in charge. During her time at UD, the Flyers won three Atlantic 10 regular season championships and one A-10 tournament championship.

McEntire also served as interim head coach for the Flyers in a 71-57 win over Morehead State on Nov. 26, 2020, when Green tested positive for COVID-19 and was unable to make the trip.

Now, McEntire joins the staff of Vic Schaefer, who is also coming off his first season in charge at Texas after winning two national coach of the year awards in eight seasons at Mississippi State.
