Dayton football opener against Robert Morris cancelled due to Covid-related shutdown in Colonials’ program

The Dayton Flyers football team’s home opener Saturday against Robert Morris has been cancelled after the Colonials shut down their football program due to Covid health and safety protocols.

The Flyers were scheduled to play their first meaningful game in 651 days, but the wait will extend to 658 days. The game against the Colonials will not be rescheduled, and the Flyers will now open the season on Saturday, Sept. 11 at home against Eastern Illinois at 1 p.m.
