Dayton Flyers Prepare for A10 Tournament (What Fans Need to Know)

The 2025 Atlantic 10 Men’s Basketball Tournament is set to take place March 12-15 at Capital One Arena in Washington, D.C.

The Dayton Flyers spent Friday (March 7) making final preparations for their final regular season game, this one on the road at VCU. Right now, UD is positioned to earn a double-bye, meaning their first game would be in the quarterfinals on March 14. Depending on the results of their ame against VCU and the performances of other A-10 teams, Dayton could potentially play as early as March 13 if they drop in the standings.

Senior UD Athletics Associate Director Mark Gazdik emphasized that Dayton is well prepared for the tournament.

“I’ll take our team against anybody else’s team. They’re getting better every day, and that’s the key at this point in the season,” he told Flyer News in an interview.

Dayton fans can follow the action this way:

  • The first and second rounds can be viewed on USA Network and Peacock on March 12-13.
  • The quarterfinals on March 14 will also be accessible on those platforms.
  • The semifinals on March 15 will be hosted by CBS Sports Network and
  • The championship game on March 16 will be on CBS.
  • WHIO radio 1290 AM will provide coverage of all games.

Dayton fans have multiple options for purchasing tickets. The UD Ticket Office is offering All-session packages for Wednesday through Sunday for $267. Reserved seats are available through Capital One Arena’s official website.

For students, the A-10 is offering discounted tickets, which UD’s marketing teams have communicated to the Red Scare student section. Tickets purchased through UD’s ticket office offers seating directly behind the Dayton bench.

Athletics Assistant Director Dan Pruett said, “The benefit of buying from the school is that you can sit closer to behind the bench, and the revenue from ticket sales goes directly to the university.”

Dayton’s passionate fanbase has historically traveled well. The Red Scare and Pep Band will both be traveling to D.C. as well, to enhance the atmosphere.

The UD Advancement Office and Alumni Association have organized pregame meetups two hours before every game at Penn Quarter Sports Tavern, located a few blocks from Capital One Arena. The UD Pep band and cheerleaders will be there before the first game. For fans traveling to the game, UD Athletics does not directly work with travel agencies, so fans will need to look into external groups for travel packages.

There has been much speculation regarding Head Coach Anthony Grant’s job. While Dayton has faced some challenges this season, Grant’s job appears secure. Gazdik confirmed that there are “no known NBA teams” pursuing Grant, nor are there indications he is considering stepping down.

With March Madness just days away, Dayton fans are hoping for a deep A-10 Tournament run. Winning the tournament guarantees an NCAA berth. But even without a title, a strong showing could strength the Flyer’s odds for an at-large bid.

“The more fans we have in D.C., the better,” Gazdik said. “Our fanbase is an advantage for our team.”

Looking ahead, the 2026 A-10 Tournament will be in Pittsburgh, a much shorter trip for Flyer fans. But for now, all eyes are on Washington.
