Holmes II named Atlantic 10 Conference Rookie of the Week

DaRon Holmes ll is the fifth-consecutive Flyer to be named the Atlantic 10 Conference Rookie of the Week.

Holmes had one of his best games, contributing to the team’s 69-60 win over Southern University on Dec. 21. He scored 10 points, had four assists, blocked four shots and grabbed six rebounds.

Holmes is tied for the team lead in scoring and second in rebounding on the season. His .651 field goal percentage is leading the Atlantic 10 Conference and his 23 dunks are third in the nation among freshmen, just ahead of Chet Holmgren of Gonzaga.

Holmes was also awarded the Ohio’s CollegeAdvantage Student-Athletes of the Week along with women’s basketball graduate student Erin Whalen.

The men’s next schedule game is on Wednesday against VCU at 7 p.m. in UD Arena.
