The Dayton Men’s Basketball game against the University of Nevada, Las Vegas will not be rescheduled this season. The game was initially canceled due to the shooting that took place on UNLV’s campus on Dec. 7. The shooter killed three people and wounded a fourth before being shot dead by police.

“In talking to our colleagues at UNLV, I can tell you we are all disappointed this game will not be played this year. We simply found no practical way to reschedule the game this season, based on the calendar, and a variety of other logistical challenges.  We look forward to hosting UNLV in the future,” UD Vice-President and Director of Athletics, Neil Sullivan said in an announcement on the Dayton Flyer website by the UD Athletic Office.

The UD Men’s Basketball Team will play on Saturday in their match against the University of Cincinnati. The game starts at 7 p.m. ET.
