Masque, a popular gay nightclub among UD students in downtown Dayton, will close in January.

According to the club’s Facebook post on Sunday announcing the closure, level 2 will cease operations on Jan. 18 and level 1 will close Jan. 25.

The post said the business was unable to reach an agreement on a “lease or purchase of the building,” but is actively seeking a new location. While Masque hopes to relocate to another venue in Dayton, owner Luke Liakos wrote that the nightclub is open to the possibility of moving to another city.

The post thanked the staff, entertainers and customers from the past 15 years.

Masque is located at 34 N. Jefferson St. in downtown Dayton. Students can take the Flyer to visit the nightclub by getting off at the intersection of South Main Street and East Second Street.
