For the fourth time this season, the Dayton Flyers soccer team fell to nationally-ranked Saint Louis, this time 3-0 in the Atlantic 10 semifinals at Hermann Stadium in St. Louis, Mo.
A 25th minute goal by the Billikens was the difference in the first half, and the Flyers were out-shot 8-0.
In the second half, the Flyers held off the Billikens until the 64th minute, and a third Billikens goal put the game away in the 88th minute. In the second half, the Flyers were out-shot 8-5.
Freshman Itala Gemelli and sophomore Jessica Sheldon had 2 shots each, and freshman Diana Benigno had the fifth, but none of the shots were on goal.
The Flyers’ season comes to a rough end with three straight losses to the Billikens, who advance to the final at their home stadium on Saturday.
