Dayton Flyers football safety Brandon Easterling and all-purpose back Jake Chisholm were named to Stats Perform FCS Preseason All-America third team Monday morning.
Easterling and Chisholm joined 120 All-Americans representing all 15 FCS conferences and 60 schools split into three 40-player teams, but were the only players from the Pioneer Football League.
When the Flyers last played in 2019, Chisholm was named First Team All-PFL, finishing second in rushing yards per game (112.9) and led FCS in all-purpose yardage per game (204.3). Easterling, meanwhile, was named 2019 FCS All-American by HERO Sports, the Walter Camp Foundation, the Associated Press and STATS FCS. He was also a finalist for FCS Stats’ Buck Buchanan Award, given to the top defensive player in FCS.
Easterling and Chisholm will lead the Flyers on the field for the first time in 651 days as co-captains when UD opens the season at home against Robert Morris on Saturday, Sept. 4 at noon.
