On March 5, a former University of Dayton coach and three former athletes will be inducted into the Athletic Hall of Fame: Mike Tucker, Ally Malott-McCarthy, Andrea Hoover and Mike Harmeyer.

Mike Tucker coached the women’s soccer team from 1995-2016 where his 0.736 winning percentage ranked him fourth best among Dayton coaches in all sports.

During his time at Dayton, he was named the Atlantic 10 Coach of the Year five times as well as his athletes won 20 A10 regular-season or tournament championships. Tucker also had seven Flyer All-Americans play for him.

Ally Malott-McCarthy played on the women’s basketball team until 2015 when she was drafted to play in the WNBA with the Washington Mystics.

Malott-McCarthy currently ranks seventh in career scoring and in blocked shots at Dayton.

Andrea Hoover, Ally’s former teammate, ranks fourth in school history with more than 1800 points. In her final season with the Flyer’s in 2015, Hoover and her team made the Elite Eight team before losing to UConn.

Andrea holds the record for free-throw percentage in a season and in the third round of the WNBA Draft selection, she was picked by the Los Angeles Sparks.

The last athlete to be inducted is former football defensive captain, Mike Harmeyer. Harmeyer played football for Dayton from 1983-1985.

Before Harmeyer graduated in 1986, he was a two-time NCAA Division lll All-American.

In his junior season he snatched 16 total sacks and holds the record for three fumbles recovered in a game.

The inductees will be introduced during halftime at the Dayton vs. Davidson men’s basketball game in early March.
