The University of Dayton and the Entrepreneurs’ Center presented The Hub at the Dayton Arcade with a virtual grand opening March 4, powered by PNC Bank.
This innovative 95,000 square foot structure provides an off-campus space for aspiring entrepreneurs and UD students to create ideas and successfully network with other passionate people.

Vince Lewis, the president of The Hub and director of the L. William Crotty Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership at UD, led the virtual panel discussion with fellow cohorts who all had a hand in designing The Hub.
The Hub contains a multitude of private offices, with both co-share spaces for collaborative projects and dedicated desk spaces for independent workers.
The space also has meeting rooms equipped with audio and visual capabilities, and provides pop-up retail opportunities for local businesses. Students can also take advantage of the Hub’s learning labs and classroom spaces to further their entrepreneurial aspirations.
“This facility can close the gap between student course work and actual start up launch, so that the business ideas and plans developed in the classroom are met with resources to ensure the start up doesn’t stop once the student leaves the classroom,” said David Marshall, an assistant professor of the Department of Management and Marketing at UD.
While this place may seem just for business students, students of cross-disciplinary studies and majors are welcomed into all of the spaces at The Hub.
Welcoming those of different intellectual specialities builds community and helps individuals and groups grow in pursuit of knowledge. One of the main visions of The Hub is to bring an entrepreneurship community together to support economic growth among each other regardless of age, race or background.
The Hub will now act as a symbol for the great Dayton community, showing how ideas are born, how people work closely together to make these ideas a reality and how inclusivity and authenticity are highly valued.
Visit The Hub at W Third Street, Dayton, OH 45402 or by visiting The Hub’s website for more information about how to get involved.
