Playing their first game in 17 days, the University of Dayton women’s basketball team ran away from St. Bonaventure in a 68-51 win Sunday in Olean, N.Y.
Senior guard Jenna Giacone led the team with 20 points (a career high), and the only rough patch for the Flyers was the third quarter, when the Bonnies outscored the Flyers 13-7.
Other than the third quarter, the Flyers continued to get scoring from across the board, with 9 of 11 players getting on the scoresheet.
Junior forward Kyla Whitehead added 11 points and 7 rebounds, while senior guard Araion Bradshaw scored 8 and grabbed 11 rebounds.
With the win, the Flyers improve to 7-1 on the season and 6-0 in Atlantic 10 play. Next up is a recently-scheduled match-up at Saint Louis Tuesday at 5 p.m.
