During a global pandemic where everyone is forced to stay home, it’s easy to get bored. Here are some ideas to help you stay busy while staying at home.

  1. Go Outside

Walking is the perfect way to get exercise in your daily life and get some fresh air. To challenge yourself more, you can also run or ride your bike. But, if none of that is for you, even sitting outside can improve your mood and expose you to Vitamin C which your body needs.

  1. Download a Fitness App

Many fitness apps that usually require a subscription are now free during the stay at home period. Some of those apps are Peloton, Nike, Fiton, and Down Dog. Other fitness options are available on Instagram live including @doyourumble, @soulcycle, @barrys, and @theplaygroundla. Working out at home can be boring, but these options are fun and motivational.

  1. Try Arts & Crafts

With a lot of free time, this is the perfect time to become artistic. Some fun arts and crafts ideas to try are  scrapbooking (maybe a Dayton-inspired album), adult coloring books (very therapeutic), and painting.

  1. Baking/Cooking

For those who already love to cook or for those who want to improve their skills, there’s no better time to try out recipes and get creative in the kitchen. The internet is full of  endless recipes. Some websites are allrecipes.com, delish.com, and foodnetwork.com.

  1. Read a Book

If you use the excuse “I don’t have time to commit to a book,” well now you do. Reading is the perfect way to escape reality and be entertained .

  1. Clean Out Your Closet

During this time, it is important to give back to the community. A simple way to do this is to donate clothes you no longer need. Getting rid of clothes helps alleviate stress, and donating them helps someone in need. Therefore, it’s a win-win situation.
