University of Dayton student Malinda Meyer, 19, passed away unexpectedly in her dorm room in Marianist Hall on Nov. 6, according to an email sent out by university president Dr. Eric Spina.
Malinda was a sophomore communications student from Oak Park, Illinois.
Campus Ministry held a prayer and support gathering on the afternoon of Nov. 7 in the Chapel of Immaculate Conception.
A memorial is set up in the second prayer niche of the Chapel, where people are welcome to light a candle or pray in her memory. There is currently no information on the funeral for Malinda, but they will be posted on Porches when made available.
In the email, President Spina said, “We extend our deepest sympathy and prayers to Malinda’s family, friends, faculty, staff, and our entire campus community.”
