With the weather beginning to dip with cold rain and winds, a bowl or plate of something warm or sweet is sure to lift your spirit. Here are some recipes to warm you up for the chilly autumn weather.

Iced Pumpkin Cookies 

This is a Flyer family favorite from one family to another. It is a favorite fall treat that is soft and glazed in white icing and only takes 35 minutes to make. What’s special about this recipe as well is that the consistency is that of cake and not your average cookie. They are soft, sweet-tasting cookies that are sure to make your autumn a little cozier. Cinnamon Apple Pie Bread 

If you’re looking to make your home smell sweet for the fall season, “Wishes and Dishes” has a unique take when it comes to the taste of an apple pie. Well, now you can make it within your own kitchen. “Simply Recipes” gives a perfect recipe for this soup and states in the recipe that it only takes 45 minutes to make with a 30 minute cook time. If you’re wanting to try something new, then broccoli cheddar soup is right up your alley. This is perfect for any dinner after a chilly day walking around on campus and needing something warm. Chicken Noodle Soup 

Chicken noodle soup is perfect for the cold weather starting to settle in. This recipe from “Two Healthy Kitchens” calls for some leftover rotisserie chicken to make it easier on the cook, but you can also cook your own chicken. Creamy Tomato Parmesan Soup 

Another easy soup to make with a cooking time of twenty minutes is creamy tomato parmesan soup from “Let’s Dish.” Though easy to make, this recipe asks for a little more variety of ingredients such as flour, heavy cream and cloves of garlic, but for a nice, warm home-cooked meal it’s perfect. You can also make this soup with grilled cheese or a few slices of toast to dip in it. Pumpkin Pie Dip 

A five-minute recipe with a different texture of pumpkin but still as flavorful is pumpkin pie dip from “Cooking Classy.” Pumpkin pie dip is different from your average party dip and will catch the eyes of others, but it is equally enjoyable for a small fall get-together. Vegan Pumpkin Spice Blondies 

For those who like vegan treats and pumpkin spice, here’s a little mixture including those two favorites. “Healthy Maven” has just what you’re looking for. Prepping and baking these treats only takes a total of 35 minutes and if you want, you can make  up to 16 blondies. The recipe on the website also gives a DIY on how to make the pumpkin spice for the blondies. This recipe also gives an option to make the blondies gluten-free. This is a healthy but sweet treat. Spiderweb Crackers 

This last recipe only has three ingredients including melting chocolate, almond milk and Ritz crackers. The “Salt and Baker” recipe details the different amounts of ingredients you’ll need depending on how many you want to make for your friends. This is a great option for a Halloween party.
