Freshman forward Jordan Pierce, junior guard John Crosby and redshirt-freshman forward Kostas Antetokoumpo now join freshman guard Matej Svoboda and junior forward Xeryius Williams in leaving UD’s basketball program. All five student-athletes have been granted their release from the program, according to coach Anthony Grant.

Both Antetokounmpo and Svoboda are pursuing professional careers, according to a Dayton press release, with Svoboda going back to his home country, the Czech Republic. Crosby, Williams and Pierce are looking to transfer and continue to their play at the collegiate level.

Dayton now has five empty roster spots and five open scholarships on its team for next year and will more than likely be in pursuit of transfers. However, luckily for the Flyers, they still return four of their five starters from the 2017-2018 season and have junior forward Ryan Mikesell and current redshirted-freshman forward Obadiah Toppin on slate to rejoin them after being forced to sit out all last year.
