UD student struck by Dayton fire truck

UPDATE Oct. 30, 9 a.m.:
Dayton Fire Engine 14 hit the UD student, a 18-year-old male, who was biking in the bike lane at the intersection of Brown and Stewart streets, according to WHIO. The student sustained serious injuries. Officials and the student’s family have not released the name of the student at this time.

Director and Chief of Dayton Fire Jeff Payne said one fire lieutenant and three firefighters were in the vehicle during the incident. The driver, whose name will not be released by Dayton Fire officials, is on paid administrative lead pending results of a blood test, according to WHIO.
