Northeast Ohio rock band to play Ladder 11 Friday

Alex Hall’s Figurehead, a new band originating from Northeast Ohio, is coming to Dayton this Friday to share its new music with the claim it has something to offer for everyone.
Alex Hall, former frontman and founding member of the band Aliver Hall, said he is excited to introduce his current band to the Dayton scene. Alex Hall’s Figurehead features a variety of uplifting and “dance-y” progressive rock songs with a universal appeal. Hall said that he personally is influenced by big names like Pink Floyd and Frank Zappa, but each member of the band brings something new to the table from what inspires them personally. This progressive mix of style and influence allows everyone who sees a show to take something away from it.
“Every audience we come across leaves the show happy. It’s just fun,” Hall said. “Anyone can get into this music.”
At an Alex Hall’s Figurehead show, audiences may hear anything from theme songs of popular TV shows, to somewhat random cover songs like “Baby Got Back” and “Mary Had a Little Lamb.” Along with these fun covers, the band also features old Aliver Hall songs and new originals written mostly by Hall himself.
Hall is passionate about what he does, and his new band members are eager to share that passion with their audience. He said his greatest tactic for attracting fans is writing and playing music that he would actually want to listen to himself.
“I wish that I could make people like the music as much as I like playing it,” Hall said.
The band puts a large emphasis on the art of the music itself and not just the business side of things. The band members simply want to create music they love and share it with their audience. Alex Hall’s Figurehead is excited to do just that in Dayton this weekend. Hall hasn’t played a show in Dayton with his new band yet, but he played here with Aliver Hall frequently and said he knows it’s a great place to be.
Alex Hall’s Figurehead will perform at Jimmie’s Ladder 11 Friday, Oct. 3, at 9 p.m. There is no cover charge and patrons of all ages are welcome.
