Crime Log - April 17, 2007
The following incidents were reported to the Department of Public Safety between March 26 and April 3. This log was compiled by Flyer News from actual police reports obtained from the Department of Public Safety.Petty Theft
March 26, 11:43 a.m.
Officer Durian was dispatched to College Park Center in reference to a complaint about a roommate problem. He met with a UD student who stated his roommate stole $130 from his wallet in his desk drawer. The roommate admitted to taking it and said he would replace the money. At the time of the report he only paid him back $25 and left a note saying the remainder would be coming soon. The victim did not receive the money before spring break.
Theft
March 29, 1:28 p.m.
Officer Snyder was dispatched to Miriam Hall on the report of a theft. He contacted a technical support specialist who stated between March 15 and March 29 someone removed an Epson Model 7900 data projector valued at $4328 from a storage cabinet. The university-owned equipment has an unknown serial number attached to the top of the projector along with a yellow identification tag. The nearby camera will be reviewed. There are no suspects.
Simple Assault
March 31, 3:29 a.m.
While assisting Squad One Officer Little and Officer Pease were approached by a male who stated his friend had been attacked by a male near Holy Angels Church. They arrived at Garden Apartments to talk with the victim and she said an unknown male grabbed her right arm and ripped her shirt and pants before she got away. Officer Little and Officer Pease returned to the crime scene and did not locate anyone matching the victim's description.
Misuse of Credit Card
April 3, 11:41 a.m.
Officer Parmenter was dispatched to the College Park Center regarding a male who reported theft of money from his debit card account while the card was still in his possession. The UD student stated he was contacted by Day Air Credit Union who said that four separate purchases were made using the account in New York and Georgia totaling $940.38. The victim did not make any purchases or authorize anyone to do so.
Suspicious Person
April 3, 7:50 p.m.
While on patrol in the P parking lot officer Cloyd was stopped by a UD rowing coach who stated a student told him earlier that a white male followed her into the elevator in Roesch Library for the second time. After she left the library, she attended rowing practice and the male showed up and watched from outside. The male was identified and contacted. Officer Cloyd explained to him that he should not return to campus or he will be taken to jail.
