Aggravated Menacing

December 9, 3:33 a.m.

Officer Schaefer was dispatched to Virginia Kettering Hall on a report of aggravated menacing. He met with the victims, who stated that they had attended an off-campus function sponsored by the Sigma Chi fraternity earlier in the evening. At around 2:30 a.m. the students returned to campus in a cab that had been contracted by the fraternity to provide transportation. After the cab driver dropped another couple off at Campus South, the students requested that the driver drop them off at Virginia Kettering. The cab driver became irate, and asked the students why they had to be dropped off there. When they arrived at the building, one of the students asked if he needed to give the driver a tip. The driver appeared to take offense at the question, and stated that the students were 'poor customers.' As they were getting out of the vehicle, the driver exited the vehicle, walked around the rear of the vehicle, and produced a small frame silver revolver which he pointed at one of the students. The students ran inside the building, and the cab left the area.

The complainant saw a white male standing on a tree-covered hill in the city of Oakwood. The suspect had his pants down and was masturbating. The suspect was 20-25 years of age, about 160 lbs, brown hair, wearing only a multi-colored sweater. The complainant initially did not wish to report the offense, but was encouraged to do so by co-workers.

December 16, 9:32 p.m.

Officer Weber was dispatched to Virginia Kettering Hall regarding a fire alarm. He found the alarm to be coming from the room 284 lounge, and found that an unknown person had set off a fire extinguisher. Officer Zoerb spoke with several males on the floor who stated they did not see anybody set off the fire extinguisher.

Attempted Forcible Entry

December 17, 2:27 a.m.

Officers Pease and Little were sent to Woodland Avenue on a report of an attempted burglary. The officers spoke with the complainant, who stated that she heard a crashing sound outside of her house approximately five minutes before the officers arrived. She heard what sounded like male voices and observed two individuals wearing light-colored hooded clothing standing outside her kitchen window. She asked them, 'What are you doing'? The individuals then ran off toward campus. The window frame surrounding the kitchen was pulled away from the house, the outer portion of glass was broken from the outside, and there was a large amount of broken glass beneath the window.
