Criminal Trespass
November 4, 8:42 p.m.
All on-duty crews were informed of a suspicious male in the area of the construction zone at Trinity Avenue and Lowes Street. According to the caller, a white male wearing a blue denim shirt, blue jeans and a ball cap was seen entering the construction zone on Trinity Avenue. Officer Sipes found the suspect walking along Trinity Avenue carrying a pair of drywall stilts. The caller, a Valley Interiors' foreman, was found at the construction site and identified the stilts as belonging to the company. He stated that they were last in the possession of another employee. The suspect stated that he had found the stilts in a dumpster. The employee arrived and said that the stilts had been in the bed of his truck secured by bungee cords the last time he saw them. He took Officer Sipes to his truck, which was near the construction site, and Officer Sipes saw that the bungee cords were loose in the truck bed. The suspect was handcuffed and charged with Theft and Criminal Trespass, and he was transported to Montgomery County jail.
Attempted Forcible Entry
Criminal Damaging
November 5, 2:40 a.m.
Officer Pease responded to a report of someone trying to gain entry into a residence on Kiefaber Street. The complainant stated that at about 2:30 a.m. she heard the screen door to her front door open and then heard loud banging noises. She stated that the door was moving with the noises and she believed someone was attempting to forcibly open the door, which was locked and dead-bolted. The complainant's roommate stated that she came down the stairs and saw the door moving, then saw the door stop moving and heard a window breaking. She stated that she heard several voices but was unsure who the voices belonged to. Officer Pease observed that there were several scuff marks and dents on the door and that the window appeared to have been broken by a small rock. The screen of the window was still intact and it did not appear that anyone attempted to gain entry into the residence through the window.
