Telephone Harassment

October 1, 11:19 a.m.

Sergeant Montgomery was dispatched to Marycrest Hall to meet with a complainant who reported a telephone call in which the caller wanted to act out a sexual-related scenario. The complainant stated the caller had said he was a member of a fraternity and was looking for a good actress to help him with some scenarios. He asked her to make up things about herself and asked if she wanted a ride. The complainant stated the caller kept asking her to beg him not to hurt her and told her she was beautiful and not to be scared. After about five minutes, the caller asked if she had the number of anyone else who would be scared by this and stated he needed to call 29 girls by the 19th. She did not give him anyone else's phone number. The complainant stated two other females on her floor told her they had received similar calls. The first reportedly hung up immediately and the second hung up after the complainant told her to. The caller is said to have a funny voice, like a feminine Latin-sounding Keanu Reeves, a little deep. There are no known suspects or witnesses at this time.

Drug Trafficking, Drug Possession,

Obstructing Official Business, Assault on a Peace Officer

October 2, 12:10 a.m.

Sergeant Swank responded to the area of Kiefaber regarding a complaint of a subject suspected of selling drugs. The suspect was described as a white male wearing all black clothing with curly hair selling drugs from a backpack. Sergeant Swank observed a male subject matching that description standing in the front yard of the residence, holding a large backpack and talking to several people at a party. Sergeant Swank approached the subject, who immediately placed the backpack on the ground, and asked for his ID. After identifying the subject, he asked him if he was a student. The subject stated he was not a student nor was he friends with anyone that attended UD. Sergeant Swank asked if the backpack was his, and he stated it was not. Opening the bag, Sergeant Swank observed a bottle of alcohol and several clear baggies that contained what appeared to be marijuana. He began to advise the subject he was under arrest, at which point the subject lunged at him and attempted to take back the license. The subject then took off running towards Lawnview Ave. Sergeant Swank radioed he was involved in a foot pursuit. He advised the other units of the direction of the chase and someone should secure the backpack. Officer Little secured the backpack, and Officers Pease and Durian apprehended the subject on Evanston and placed him in handcuffs. At the station, Sergeant Swank conducted an inventory of the backpack, which contained eight separate sealed plastic bags containing suspected marijuana, an open bottle of Schnapps, a clear plastic bag with several white pills, several keys, and miscellaneous other items. The subject was advised he was being charged with drug trafficking, assault on a police officer, possession of drugs and obstructing official business. He was transported to the Montgomery County Jail.
