Crime Log - September 09, 2005
The following incidents were reported to the Department of Public Safety between September 1 and September 4. This log was compiled by Flyer News from actual police reports obtained from the Department of Public Safety.Theft
September 1, 2:02 p.m.
Sergeant Montgomery reported to Benisek Hall in response to a report of stolen property. The complainant stated at 4:00 p.m. on August 31 she had accidentally left her black Motorola cell phone in one of the stalls in the second floor women's restroom of Kennedy Union. She stated she returned within minutes to retrieve her phone, but found the phone had been taken. Two attempts were made to call the phone, and it was found to be active but no one answered it. There are no known suspects or witnesses at this time.
Criminal Trespass
September 4, 7:21 p.m.
Officers Weber, Cloyd and Durian were dispatched to the area of St. Mary's Hall near the Chapel after receiving a report of a man asking for money. He was described as an older white male wearing blue jeans and a blue denim shirt, with long, dark hair. He stated he was asking people for money so he could catch the bus home. It was discovered the man had a Criminal Trespass warning on file from January 3, 2004. He was arrested, issued a new Criminal Trespass warning, and transported to the Montgomery Country Jail where he was housed.
Theft
September 4, 7:24 p.m.
Officer Orrill responded twice to reports of theft in Kennedy Union. Both times he spoke to the complainant, a UD student and employee, concerning Dell laptops which had been taken. The computers had security cables which had been cut, indicating the locks were still attached to the laptops. The complainant stated that one laptop was on a computer cart in a room that had been unsecured from 8:00 a.m. to 6:10 p.m., and the other laptop was in a room which had been unsecured all day. There are no known suspects or witnesses at this time.
