Crime Log - February 22, 2008
The following incidents were reported to the Department of Public Safety between Feb. 15, 2008, and Feb. 17, 2008. This log was compiled by Flyer News from actual police reports obtained from the Department of Public Safety.
Criminal Damaging
Feb. 15, 2:30 p.m.
Officer Durian was dispatched to SV lot on a criminal damage report. He met with a 20-year-old UD student who said that he had parked his 1996 Toyota Camry in the lot at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 14. He said upon returning to his vehicle Feb. 15 he found the left rear vent window was shattered. His glove box was open and papers were thrown around the car. The victim said he did not find anything missing. The cost of damage is unknown and there are no suspects.

Feb. 15, 2:52 p.m.
Officer Durian was sent to SV lot on a criminal damage report. He met with a student who stated he parked his 1996 Ford Mustang in the lot around midnight. When he returned to the vehicle at 2:45 p.m. he found the passenger side door lock had been punched. An unknown person broke into the vehicle and stole a Panasonic touch screen radio and the vehicle's owner's manual, containing his registration and insurance card. It is valued at $300.

Feb. 16, 11:27 a.m.
Officer Foreman was dispatched to the southeast corner of S2 lot on the report a criminal damaging. He met with an 18-year-old non-UD student who said that he had parked his white 2001 four-door Chevrolet Impala in the lot at 9 p.m. Feb. 15. When he returned Feb. 16 he found the exterior driver's side rearview mirror knocked off. The mirror's housing was shattered on the bottom and it was off its mount. Insurance may cover the damage.

Feb. 17, 1:31 p.m.
Officer Parmenter was dispatched to a residence on Lawnview Avenue on the report of a damaged vehicle. The 21-year-old UD student showed him his red 2003 Hyundai Santa Fe. He said that he had parked the car on the street around 3 p.m. Feb. 16 and when he returned around 1:30 p.m. Feb. 17 he found someone had broken off the passenger's side mirror and put a small dent in the right front fender. There was no evidence and there are no witnesses.

Feb. 17, 4:50 p.m.
Officer Barber reported he met a student on Irving Avenue on the report of a damaged vehicle. The 25-year-old UD alumnus was standing next to his black 2000 Ford Mustang. He stated he parked his vehicle on the street around 9 p.m. Feb. 15. Between that time and 6 p.m. Feb. 16 someone broke off the car's driver's side view mirror. There was no evidence found around the car and there are no witnesses. The man submitted a written statement.
