Crime Log - January 29, 2008
The following incidents were reported to the Department of Public Safety between Jan. 24 and Jan. 30, 2000. Public Safety did not provide Flyer News with current crime reports. The crime log will return next issue.
Other
Jan. 24, 12 a.m.
An officer took a criminal mischief complaint from the residents of a house on Stonemill. The officer spoke to a female resident who said that Jan. 24 someone had dumped a brown couch and a beer can on their front lawn. She went on to say that on Jan. 27, someone had dumped a broken coffee table and more beer cans on their property.
Theft
Jan. 28, 1 p.m.
An officer was sent to take a theft complaint from the cafeteria in Marycrest Complex. A female food service worker stated that over the weekend someone had taken 20 hotdogs from a walk-in cooler in the food service area of Keller Hall. The officer asked about keys to the locker and the worker stated one key is locked in the safe everyday at Marycrest. The officer inspected the fridge and found no signs of damage. Approximate value of the property is $5.
Theft
Jan. 28, 2:21 p.m.
An officer was dispatched to the Barrett Dining Room in KU on the report of a theft. The officer spoke with a female complainant who stated that she had taken her purse with her when she went to eat lunch, and after eating lunch accidentally left the dining room without it. When she returned to retrieve her purse, she discovered it missing.
Burglary
Jan. 30, 2:45 a.m.
A Public Safety officer was sent in response to a burglary report. The officer spoke with a female who stated that between 2:45 a.m. and 4 a.m. Jan. 30 someone entered her residence through an unlocked door and took a television and over 100 compact discs from the living room of the house. All three residents of the house had some CDs stolen. One resident of the house was asleep in the residence at the time and knew nothing of the occurrence.
Other
Jan. 30, 4:20 a.m.
An officer was dispatched concerning a fire alarm. While checking the scene, an RA advised the dispatcher that he had, in the lobby of VWK, seen possible suspects who pulled the fire alarm. The RA stated that while he was checking the floor for smoke, he observed two white males with ink marking on their shirts. The ink appeared to be the type commonly used to 'mark' pull stations. The suspects were placed under arrest.
