Crime Log - January 15, 2008
The following incidents were reported to the Department of Public Safety between Nov. 30, 2007, and Jan. 9, 2008.

Criminal Damaging
Nov. 30, 8:30 a.m.
Officer Russell was dispatched to S2 lot on the report of a damaged vehicle. He met with the 21-year-old male UD student who said that someone had damaged his car. There were no suspects or witnesses. The vehicle is a 2001 two-door gray Mercury Cougar and the outside left door mirror had been knocked off. The damage had occurred between 7:30 p.m. Nov. 29 and 8:30 a.m. Nov. 30. The student filled out a witness statement.
Burglary
Dec. 2, 2:21 a.m.
Officer Pease was dispatched to Lawnview Avenue on the report of a burglary. He met with the victim, who said someone had broken out the window of the front door of his residence and stolen an Apple iPod from the living room. The roommates had left their residence around 1 a.m. and locked the doors behind them. When they returned to the residence the thief had unlocked the door through the broken window. The iPod is valued at $300.
Criminal Damaging
Dec. 3, 9:17 p.m.
Officer Orrill was dispatched to a residence on Kiefaber Street on the report of criminal damaging. He met with the 21-year-old UD student who said that he parked his off-white Mitsubishi Galant in the RP 6 Lot around 7 p.m. Nov. 30. When the student returned to the vehicle around 10:15 a.m. Dec. 1 he saw that the driver's side mirror was broken and hanging by electrical wires. He taped the mirror back on to drive the car for the weekend.
Criminal Damaging
Dec. 7, 9:07 a.m.
Officer Russell went to Alberta Street to speak to a male student on the report of criminal damaging. The student said that someone had tried to kick in the back door to his residence. Between 2:30 a.m. and 8:30 a.m. Dec. 7 five footprints were left on the door. The lock and inside doorjamb were broken. No entry had been made and the safety chain had not broken. The student had heard a noise but had not gotten out of bed to investigate.
Bicycle Theft
Jan. 9, 8:19 p.m.
Officer Cloyd was dispatched to a residence on Lawnview Avenue on the report of a stolen bicycle. He met with a 25-year-old male UD student who said that he had left his dark brown 19-inch 'Ironhorse' Maverick unlocked in the yard around 2 p.m. When he returned he saw that the bike with seafoam green Michelin tires was missing. The student had purchased the bike in 2007 and it is valued at $700. He does not know the serial number.
